Meeting Reviews 2023

Monday 4th December

Today we dressed in our best Christmas outfits for our Christmas party. We all brought food to share, the table was laden with delicious food.

We played party games , which everyone joined in with enthusiasm. Our first game involved putting paper plates on our heads, and drawing a Christmas picture of a snowman and Christmas tree, without looking. The results were hilarious.

We had two teams and played a game of passing a balloon between our knees. This was much harder than expected , but good fun.

We brought lots of food to donate to the Trussell Trust , who are greatly in need at this time of year.

Monday 4th September

Tonight was a social evening. We all wrote one fact about ourselves, that we thought no one in the room would know about us. We then had to guess who had written what. We learnt some very interesting and quite amazing things things about each other, from sky diving, various jobs, where we were born, our pets, the size of our feet, who has a GCSE in Greek, who has met Lady Baden Powell, and much more.

Monday 3rd July

We had a fascinating talk by teacher Mary Watkins about her voluntary work in Rwanda. As a teacher she was asked to help train nursery teachers, with almost no resources, she found ways of recycling to make resources for the children. She and her husband also help train rugby teams and with fund raising  has managed to provide kit and equipment for the teams. She has also helped provide sewing machines for some of the ladies.

After a very successful A.G.M. in which Sue was unanimously elected as President for another year, we had an enjoyable fish and chip supper.

The Edith Evans cup was presented to Sharon and Denise for their hard work every month with the trading stall.
