1.   The President Sue  Lewis asked if she could sign off last month’s minutes   as a true record   Proposed by Helena Thomas and .Seconded by Liz Cooke

2.       Gwent Federation Business –  Sue referred members to events in the Newsletter and sent a clipboard round for people to indicate their interest.
3.       There was an encouraging show of hands for a mystery trip  on July 15th
4.       Sue expressed her sadness that the wonderful efforts of the craft group over the last year to make post box toppers for the village were marred by one of them being taken recently. The toppers were a lovely example of village identity and she hoped the crafters would not be put off.
5.       Special interest groups:
·         Afternoon Book club meeting at Liz  Friday  10th May,  3.00 p.m. Reading  The Paper Cup
·         Evening Book Club  7.30 p.m. Wednesday 8th at Alison’s reading Thomas Hardy A pair of Blue Eyes.
·         Reading Between the Wines: 23rd May at Ponthir House . Reading ‘The Wrong Sister’ by Clare Douglas.  
·         Craft  13th May at Judith‘s house at 7 pm·         
Singing Group Wonderful news, Jan is now in sufficiently good health to reconvene the group which will now meet on the  2nd and 3rd Mondays of each month at the chapel 6.00 pm.  This earlier start will enable the crafters to attend both groups.
·         Our brand new lunch groups led by Liz Cooke and Mary Murray have each enjoyed their first lunch out – very successful. Tuesday Club to meet at Frattelli’s on 14th may at 1 pm and Thursday Club  at the Gate on 30th May  at 1 pm
 
6.       Any Other Business:  A show of hands indicated that a repeat of last year’s curry night at the hall in aid of Alice Foundation would be supported.

Jean Stanbury informed us that on Saturday 11th May there will be  ‘Walk around the Wetlands beginning at 10.30 at Wetlands Centre
 Also let us know of Usk Island event  on June 1st (10am to 3pm)
